Locum Band 7/8a Pharmacist required - Barnsley

Position: Locum Band 7/8a Clinical Pharmacist - Hospital based
Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Start Date: ASAP, December 2024
Duration: 3-6 months
Working Hours: 3, 4 or 5 days per week, 9:00am – 5:30pm (with 1-hour lunch break)

Salary: £28 - £37 per hour (dependent on experience)
Payment Method: Facilitated via Umbrella

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join our NHS client in Barnsley. This locum position is available to start ASAP in December 2024, with a flexible working pattern of 3, 4, or 5 days per week. The role is based in a hospital environment, with a focus on medical and surgical wards, as well as some inpatient dispensary cover. The position offers a pay rate of £28 - £37 per hour, depending on prior experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide clinical pharmacy services across medical and surgical wards.
• Review and ensure the safe and effective use of medications for patients.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to improve patient care.
• Provide inpatient dispensary cover as required.
• Offer advice and support regarding drug therapy management.
• Assist with medication reconciliation and discharge counselling.

Requirements:

• Qualified Pharmacist with ward-based experience in a clinical setting.
• Previous experience working in medical and surgical wards is essential.
• Band 7/8a level experience preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage workload efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability for an ASAP start and commitment for 3-6 months.
