What You’ll Be Doing:

As a Paediatric Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in assessing and supporting children with a range of developmental, sensory, and physical needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify functional difficulties and create tailored intervention plans
  • Providing evidence-based therapy to support children with fine and gross motor difficulties, sensory processing challenges, handwriting skills, and daily living tasks
  • Working closely with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Advising and training parents, teachers, and support staff on strategies to enhance the child’s independence and participation
  • Developing personalised therapy programmes and recommending specialist equipment or adaptations as needed
  • Keeping accurate patient records and contributing to clinical audits and service improvements
  • Providing mentorship and supervision to junior staff and students where applicable

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must have:

  • HCPC registration and relevant professional memberships
  • Previous experience working as a Paediatric Occupational Therapist in an NHS, school, community, or private setting
  • Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills for working with children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing difficulties, and physical disabilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with children, families, and professionals
  • A passion for child development and improving functional independence

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role is full-time but open to part-time applicants. The contract is ongoing, with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
