As a Band 6 MSK Physiotherapist, the successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality musculoskeletal care to patients with a wide range of conditions. The role focuses on assessing, diagnosing, and treating musculoskeletal disorders to restore function, alleviate pain, and improve mobility, using a combination of manual therapy, exercise prescription, and evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ musculoskeletal conditions, including but not limited to joint pain, arthritis, muscle strains, sports injuries, post-surgical rehabilitation, and spinal conditions. Accurately diagnose and create individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Treatment & Rehabilitation: Provide a range of physiotherapy interventions including manual therapy, joint mobilisations, soft tissue techniques, therapeutic exercises, ergonomic advice, and more. Assist patients in their rehabilitation journey, encouraging optimal movement and function.
- Patient Education: Guide patients in understanding their condition and provide education on injury prevention, self-management techniques, and lifestyle changes that can enhance recovery. Develop tailored exercise programmes for patients to complete both in-clinic and at home.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including GPs, orthopedic surgeons, occupational therapists, and other physiotherapists, to deliver holistic care. Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Documentation & Record Keeping: Maintain clear, concise, and accurate clinical records using the organisation's systems. Monitor and track patients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary based on outcomes.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest evidence-based practices and attend regular CPD opportunities to maintain professional knowledge and skills.
Key Skills and Experience:
- HCPC Registration: Must be registered as a physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Experience: Proven experience in musculoskeletal physiotherapy, including the assessment and treatment of a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
- Treatment Techniques: Skilled in manual therapy, exercise therapy, joint mobilisations, and various other physiotherapy interventions.
- Patient-Centred Care: A strong focus on individualised care, with the ability to tailor treatment plans to meet the specific needs of each patient.
- Team Collaboration: Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility: Ability to manage a caseload efficiently while maintaining a high level of patient care.
