Hunter AHP is recruiting a Locum Pharmacy Assistant to work at a busy and reputable GP Surgery in Ipswich. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organised pharmacy assistant to join a friendly healthcare team. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the dispensing and preparation of prescribed medications for patients in a GP surgery setting.
- Support the clinical team with medication management, including ensuring prescriptions are accurate and ready for collection.
- Provide support with stock control, ordering, and inventory management of pharmaceutical supplies.
- Provide medication advice to patients and offer guidance on prescription queries, under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Ensure that medications are stored and handled in line with best practice and regulatory guidelines.
- Update patient medication records and ensure accuracy in all systems.
- Assist with the processing and distribution of repeat prescriptions.
- Work closely with GPs and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent) – essential.
- Previous experience working as a Pharmacy Assistant, ideally in a GP surgery or primary care setting (preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with patients and staff effectively.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- A proactive attitude, with a focus on delivering excellent patient care and support.
