Band 6 or 7 Stroke and Surgery Dietitian – Locum Role (Chester)

Are you a Dietitian with experience in acute stroke and surgical care?
Hunter Gatherer AHP is seeking a Band 6 or 7 Dietitian for an acute hospital-based role in Chester. This ongoing contract offers flexible hours up to full-time and an immediate start for the right candidate.


Position Overview

  • Job Title: Band 6 or 7 Stroke and Surgery Dietitian

  • Location: Chester (Acute Hospital Setting)

  • Contract Length: Ongoing

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Pay Rate: Dependent on experience and banding (up to Band 7 level)

  • Working Pattern: Up to full-time (flexibility considered)


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist dietetic care to patients on stroke and surgical wards

  • Undertake nutritional assessments and create individualised care plans

  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for acute and post-operative care

  • Work collaboratively within the MDT to support recovery and discharge planning

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with NHS standards


Essential Criteria

  • HCPC-registered Dietitian

  • Experience in acute hospital settings, particularly stroke and surgical wards

  • Strong clinical reasoning and patient management skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Excellent time management and documentation skills
