Hunter AHP have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Locum Mental Health Pharmacist to join a NHS hospital team in West London.

Start Date: ASAP
Location: West London
Contract Type: Ongoing Locum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (30-min lunch break)
Hourly Rate: £28 – £33 per hour (DOE), paid weekly

Role Overview

The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to adult mental health wards. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes, ensure safe and effective use of medicines, and contribute to service improvements.

Key Duties

• Deliver high-quality clinical pharmacy input to inpatient mental health wards

• Conduct medicines reconciliation and review for new admissions

• Advise on appropriate prescribing, administration, and monitoring of psychotropic and other medicines

• Provide expert medicines information and advice to healthcare professionals, patients, and carers

• Support safe discharge planning, including TTOs and communication with primary care

• Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and ward rounds

• Support medicines management initiatives and adherence to trust policies

Requirements

• GPhC registration as a Pharmacist

• Hospital pharmacy experience essential

• Mental health experience highly preferable

• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
