What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our friendly and dedicated team as a Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist working in a Liverpool special school for children aged 5–19 years with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and learning disabilities. In this role, you will:

  • Carry out specialist occupational therapy assessments for children with complex needs, including sensory and physical difficulties

  • Develop, implement and review individualised therapy plans focusing on functional, sensory, and motor skill development

  • Provide intervention to promote participation, independence and self-regulation in the classroom and everyday activities

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, parents, and other professionals to deliver a holistic, integrated approach

  • Provide advice and training to school staff on therapeutic strategies and equipment

  • Monitor outcomes and maintain accurate, up-to-date clinical records in line with HCPC standards


Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current and valid HCPC registration

  • Previous experience working as a paediatric OT in schools, community, or child development settings

  • Knowledge of sensory integration and intervention strategies for children with ASD and learning disabilities

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

  • A commitment to improving outcomes and promoting inclusion for children with complex needs


Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role offers full-time hours with flexibility around start and finish times. The contract is up to one year with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
