Hunter AHP are seeking an experienced Locum Independent Prescriber (IP) Pharmacist to join a well-established GP Surgery in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity for an IP Pharmacist with a strong clinical background to provide high-quality medicines management, prescribing support, and patient care within a primary care environment.
You’ll work as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team, supporting GPs and practice staff to deliver safe and effective prescribing services.

End Date: Ongoing (service dependent)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Hours: 09:00–17:00 (may vary to 08:00–16:00 or 10:00–18:00)
Location: Onsite, Birmingham GP Surgery
Cover Required: Availability around the Christmas period (excluding Bank Holidays)
Rate: £28 to £35 per hour, paid weekly
Provide independent prescribing support for long-term conditions and acute medication requests within scope of competence.
Conduct medication reviews, manage repeat prescriptions, and ensure safe prescribing practices.
Support medicines reconciliation, including hospital discharge and outpatient communications.
Address clinical queries from GPs, nurses, and patients.
Participate in clinical audits and contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the practice.
GPhC-registered Pharmacist with an Independent Prescriber (IP) qualification.
Experience working in a GP surgery or primary care setting.
Strong understanding of clinical pharmacy and medicines optimisation.
Confident communicator with sound clinical judgment.
Flexibility to cover the Christmas period (excluding Bank Holidays).
Paid weekly via umbrella.
