Band 6 Locum A&E Physiotherapist – East of England (Weekend Work)

Pay Rate: £30 – £42 per hour (DOE, umbrella)
Contract: Locum | Weekend Shifts


About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist to join a dynamic Accident & Emergency (A&E) team on a locum weekend basis in the East of England. This is an excellent opportunity for an autonomous, confident clinician to gain or continue experience within a fast-paced acute setting, working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team.

You will be responsible for providing high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy assessments and treatments to patients presenting in A&E, ensuring safe and effective discharge planning and onward referral where appropriate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake rapid assessment and treatment of patients within the A&E and acute assessment units.

  • Support early decision-making around mobility, discharge, and rehabilitation needs.

  • Liaise effectively with medical, nursing, and therapy teams to ensure integrated patient care.

  • Contribute to service delivery and patient flow, supporting hospital-wide discharge targets.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff and students as required.


Requirements:

  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.

  • Previous NHS experience within A&E, Acute, Respiratory settings (minimum 6–12 months preferred).

  • Excellent clinical reasoning and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently within a fast-paced environment.

  • Must be available for weekend shifts (Fridays, Saturday, Sunday and Monday).
