Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting a Pharmacist to join an outpatient hospital service in Barnsley on a LONG TERM basis! This is an excellent opportunity for a clinically confident pharmacist looking for an immediate start in a supportive hospital environment.
Role Details
Location: Barnsley
Start Date: ASAP, January 2026
Contract Length: 12 months (possibility of extension)
Setting: Outpatient Hospital Service
Pay: £23–£25 per hour via Umbrella DOE
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm (1-hour lunch)
Key Responsibilities
You will support the outpatient pharmacy service by:
Providing clinical pharmacy services to outpatients, including medicines counselling and review
Ensuring safe and effective prescribing and dispensing
Performing medicines reconciliation and clinical screening
Advising patients and healthcare professionals on medication use and optimisation
Supporting the pharmacy team to maintain smooth and efficient service delivery
Contributing to the ongoing development of outpatient pharmacy processes
Candidate Requirements
GPhC-registered Pharmacist
Experience in outpatient, community, or clinical pharmacy preferred but hospital experience not essential
Strong clinical knowledge and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Patient-focused with excellent communication skills
