Locum Band 6 Acute Medical Physiotherapist – Immediate Start

We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Band 6 Acute Medical Physiotherapist to join a dynamic NHS hospital team on a locum basis.

Role Overview:
You will be working within a fast-paced acute medical setting, providing high-quality physiotherapy assessment and treatment to patients with a wide range of complex conditions. This includes respiratory care, early rehabilitation, discharge planning, and multidisciplinary team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and treatment plans for acute medical patients
• Manage a varied caseload including respiratory, elderly care, and general medicine
• Support early mobilisation and discharge planning to optimise patient flow
• Work closely with MDT colleagues including doctors, nurses, and occupational therapists
• Supervise junior staff and students where appropriate

Essential Requirements:

• HCPC registered Physiotherapist
• Minimum 12 months UK experience at Band 6 level (or strong Band 5 stepping up)
• Recent experience in acute medicine / inpatient setting
• Competent in respiratory physiotherapy techniques
• Strong communication and organisational skills

Contract Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Ongoing
• Hours: Full-time (part-time considered)
• Pay Rate: £25–£26 per hour (depending on experience)
• Location: Based across 1 of 3 hospitals in Leicestershire
