Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting for an experienced First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to join a private healthcare service in Kent.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced FCP looking for an ongoing locum position, with the potential for a long-term placement.

About the Role

As a First Contact Practitioner, you will act as a specialist MSK clinician, assessing patients who present with musculoskeletal complaints and providing an initial point of contact within the service.

You will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out comprehensive MSK assessments and clinical examinations

  • Using advanced clinical reasoning to establish appropriate working diagnoses

  • Developing and delivering individualised treatment and management plans

  • Providing self-management advice, education and exercise programmes

  • Identifying red flags and appropriately managing clinical risk

  • Making appropriate referrals to other healthcare professionals and services where required

  • Supporting patients to access the most appropriate pathway for their condition

  • Working collaboratively with GPs, physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals

  • Managing your own clinical caseload and maintaining accurate clinical documentation

  • Promoting patient independence and helping to reduce unnecessary onward referrals

Essential Requirements

  • Previous First Contact Practitioner experience is essential

  • Strong MSK Physiotherapy background

  • Relevant Physiotherapy qualification

  • HCPC registration

  • Excellent clinical assessment and reasoning skills

  • Experience managing a varied MSK caseload

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Right to work in the UK

  • Available to start around mid-September
