Locum Transfusion Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) – Contract in Berkshire

• Job Title: Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 6
• Location: Berkshire
• Duration: 6 months with review for extension
• Schedule: Monday – Sunday, between 9:00 – 20:00 (37.5 hours per week)
• Start Date: ASAP
• Rate of Pay: £25 – 26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing: Join our team as a Blood Transfusion Biomedical Scientist and play a key role in supporting the service. In this role, you will:

• Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures within the Blood Transfusion department
• Interpret and report results for clinical teams
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment
• Ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and quality standards

Requirements & Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A current and valid HCPC registration
• An IBMS-accredited degree (preferable)
• At least 6-12 months of experience in an NHS Blood Transfusion laboratory
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A commitment to delivering high-quality laboratory services

Working Hours & Contract Duration: This role offers a flexible working position requiring availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours, 9:00 – 20:00. The contract is for 6 months, with a review for extension based on performance and service needs.
