Job Title: Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 5/6
Location: Manchester
Duration: 3-month rolling contract with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 37.5 hours per week (24/7 rota)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £20 – £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist and help deliver top-tier diagnostic services. In this role, your key duties will include:

• Performing a variety of haematology and transfusion laboratory tests
• Assisting with the preparation and analysis of blood samples for diagnostic purposes
• Conducting blood group testing, crossmatching, and other transfusion-related tests
• Maintaining high standards in lab procedures while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
• Supporting the development and implementation of quality control measures
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best possible patient care

Requirements & Qualifications:

To thrive in this role, you will need:

• HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• IBMS Accredited Degree
• At least 1 – 2 years of experience in a Haematology laboratory, with transfusion experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to providing high-quality, efficient laboratory services
• Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

The role requires availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week, across a 24/7 rota. The contract is for an initial 3 months with the possibility of rolling extensions, depending on performance and service needs.
