Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a) – NHS Hospital in Liverpool

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a) to join an NHS Hospital team in Liverpool. This exciting opportunity is available for an ASAP start, with the role requiring a commitment to working 5 days per week.

Position: Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a)
Location: NHS Hospital, Liverpool
Contract: Full-Time (5 days per week), hourly rate of £33 – £37 per hour
Start Date: ASAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to various hospital departments.
  • Conducting medication reviews and optimizing pharmaceutical care.
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to medical and nursing staff on pharmaceutical matters.
  • Ensuring safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medications in the hospital.
  • Supporting the management of inpatient and outpatient prescriptions, including clinical interventions.
  • Leading and mentoring junior pharmacy staff when required.

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum 2 years of NHS hospital pharmacy experience in a clinical setting.
  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge and the ability to make informed decisions in a hospital setting.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven experience in providing a high level of patient-centered pharmaceutical care.
