Adhoc Speech and Language Therapist  – Specialist Assessment Role in South Wales

Are you a dedicated Speech and Language Therapist seeking a meaningful locum opportunity? We have an urgent and rewarding role in South Wales, focusing on a 40-year-old female patient with a dual diagnosis of hebephrenic schizophrenia and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Role Overview:

In this specialist role, you will:

  • Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the patient’s communication needs, considering her complex psychiatric and neurodevelopmental profile.

  • Identify and outline tailored interventions and support strategies to enhance effective communication.

  • Provide recommendations for ongoing therapeutic support, with the potential to negotiate additional sessions based on assessment outcomes.

  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care and support.

Essential Requirements:

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Current and valid HCPC registration.

  • Proven experience in assessing and managing communication difficulties in adults with complex needs, including those with ASD and psychiatric disorders.

  • Strong clinical reasoning and assessment skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.(Your World)
