We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a community mental health team supporting older adults with complex mental health needs. You will manage a varied caseload of clients living in the community, focusing on promoting independence, managing risk, and supporting recovery through personalised occupational interventions.
In this role, you will:
Conduct functional and environmental assessments in the community
Develop and deliver individualised care plans in line with recovery-oriented approaches
Provide occupational therapy interventions to promote daily living skills, engagement, and well-being
Work collaboratively with CMHT professionals, families, and external services to coordinate care
Monitor risk and contribute to safeguarding processes as needed
Maintain comprehensive and timely clinical documentation
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A current and valid HCPC registration
Experience working within a mental health setting, preferably with older adults
Knowledge of community-based assessments and interventions
Excellent communication, risk management, and MDT collaboration skills
A commitment to patient-centred care and recovery principles
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)
This is a flexible, ongoing locum position requiring availability Monday to Friday. There is a strong likelihood of extension based on performance and service needs.
