Are you a Band 6 Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding locum role in Cheshire? We have an exciting opportunity within a well-established community mental health team, working with an older adult caseload. This role offers excellent pay and flexible working conditions.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join a community mental health team supporting older adults with complex mental health needs. You will manage a varied caseload of clients living in the community, focusing on promoting independence, managing risk, and supporting recovery through personalised occupational interventions.

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct functional and environmental assessments in the community

  • Develop and deliver individualised care plans in line with recovery-oriented approaches

  • Provide occupational therapy interventions to promote daily living skills, engagement, and well-being

  • Work collaboratively with CMHT professionals, families, and external services to coordinate care

  • Monitor risk and contribute to safeguarding processes as needed

  • Maintain comprehensive and timely clinical documentation


Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current and valid HCPC registration

  • Experience working within a mental health setting, preferably with older adults

  • Knowledge of community-based assessments and interventions

  • Excellent communication, risk management, and MDT collaboration skills

  • A commitment to patient-centred care and recovery principles

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred)


Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a flexible, ongoing locum position requiring availability Monday to Friday. There is a strong likelihood of extension based on performance and service needs.
