About the Role:

We are currently seeking a proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic private healthcare service in Surrey. This unique and rewarding role involves working closely with patients in the Accident & Emergency (A&E) department, conducting initial assessments, and providing seamless support as they transition back to their home environment.

As part of a service that bridges the gap between acute and community care, you will play a key role in delivering person-centred interventions that promote safety, independence, and recovery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct timely and holistic occupational therapy assessments within the A&E setting.

  • Identify patients suitable for discharge and provide strategies or interventions to support safe return home.

  • Continue assessments and provide follow-up visits in patients’ homes to evaluate function and implement appropriate support plans.

  • Collaborate with hospital and community-based teams, including physiotherapists, social workers, and GPs, to ensure continuity of care.

  • Provide equipment recommendations, adaptations, and advice on risk management in the home environment.

  • Keep accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and legal standards.

  • Empower patients and families through education and support to maintain independence.


Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy

  • HCPC registration (Health and Care Professions Council)

  • Proven experience in either acute or community settings (experience in both preferred)

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical reasoning skills

  • Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload

  • Access to own vehicle and full UK driving license (essential for community visits)
