About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Locum First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to provide expert musculoskeletal (MSK) assessment and care across three clinics in Berkshire. 

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a private physiotherapy company known for its evidence-based approach and patient-centred values. The role will start in December 2025, offering part-time hours with flexibility to suit the successful candidate’s availability.

As an FCP, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients presenting with MSK conditions, providing advanced clinical assessment, diagnosis, and management. You’ll work closely with our physiotherapy and clinical teams to deliver the highest standard of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first contact assessments for patients presenting with MSK conditions.

• Deliver autonomous, evidence-based diagnosis and management plans.

• Support and empower patients through self-management and education.

• Liaise with GPs, consultants, and other healthcare professionals when onward referral is required.

• Maintain accurate, professional, and timely clinical documentation.

• Contribute to the continued development of our FCP service within the company.

Requirements

• HCPC and CSP registration as a Physiotherapist.

• Recognised First Contact Practitioner (FCP) qualification / Roadmap to Practice Stage 2 completed.

• Strong background in MSK physiotherapy, ideally within a primary care or advanced practice setting.

• Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and decision-making skills.

• Ability to work independently across multiple clinic sites.

Desirable

• Experience within private practice or FCP roles.

• Familiarity with electronic patient record systems.

• Injection therapy or non-medical prescribing qualifications (advantageous but not essential).

• Hours: Part-time, flexible (to cover 3 Berkshire clinics)

• Contract: Locum – ongoing assignment

• Rate: Competitive, based on experience
