Locum First Contact Practitioner (FCP)
NHS Service | North London | 3–4 Month Contract | Outside IR35

We are currently seeking an experienced First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to join an NHS service in North London, working closely with a specialist pain service, on a locum basis.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled clinician looking for a flexible contract within a supportive multidisciplinary NHS environment.

Role Details

• Position: Locum First Contact Practitioner (FCP)
• Location: North London
• Contract Length: 3–4 months initially
• Start Date: ASAP
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35 available
• Pay: Up to £35 per hour (depending on experience)
• Structure: Split role across Band 8a Pain Service and Band 7 FCP
• Setting: NHS Service

The Role
You will work as the first point of contact for patients presenting with musculoskeletal conditions while also supporting a specialist pain service. The role involves autonomous clinical decision-making, patient assessment, diagnosis, and management within a multidisciplinary environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of MSK conditions
• Act as the first point of contact for patients with musculoskeletal presentations
• Support the specialist pain service with patient assessment and management
• Develop and deliver appropriate treatment and management plans
• Refer for imaging, specialist services, or secondary care where appropriate
• Work collaboratively with GPs and the wider multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Qualified Physiotherapist with HCPC registration
• Experience working as an FCP within primary care
• Strong MSK assessment and clinical reasoning skills
• Experience within pain management services desirable
