Locum Independent Prescriber – GP Surgery – South East London

Hunter AHP are currently working with a reputable GP surgery in South East London that is looking for a Locum Independent Prescriber (IP) to support their clinical team on an ongoing basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and experienced clinician to step into a well-organised, patient-focused setting with flexibility and support.

About the Role:

  • Job Title: Independent Prescriber (Locum)

  • Setting: Primary Care / GP Surgery

  • Location: Easily accessible location in South East London

  • Working Days: Candidate can choose to work 3, 4 or 5 days per week

  • Hours: Typically 8:00am – 4:00pm or 9:00am – 5:00pm (can vary slightly)

  • Start Date: ASAP (flexible for the right candidate)

  • Contract Length: Ongoing, with long-term potential

  • Hourly Rate: £27.00 to £40.00 per hour (dependent on experience)

  • Payment: Paid weekly via Hunter AHP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting clinical assessments and prescribing independently within scope of practice

  • Managing minor ailments and chronic disease reviews where required

  • Providing high-quality, evidence-based care to a diverse patient list

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support the surgery’s service delivery

  • Accurately documenting consultations and maintaining patient records on EMIS

Requirements:

  • Must be a registered Independent Prescriber with appropriate qualifications

  • Prior experience working in a GP practice or primary care setting

  • Proficient in EMIS Web (this is essential – training is not provided)

  • Ability to manage own caseload independently and work efficiently in a team

  • Own laptop preferred, especially if interested in hybrid working (onsite/remote blend)
