About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and adaptable Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the physiotherapy team at an NHS hospital in Surrey. This is an immediate-start locum position supporting the winter pressure escalation wards across a range of inpatient areas, including surgical, medical, respiratory, and rehabilitation wards.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist looking to develop broad acute inpatient experience within a supportive and dynamic NHS team during the busy winter period.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients across surgical, medical, respiratory, and rehab wards.

• Contribute to effective discharge planning and patient flow during the winter escalation period.

• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.

• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based physiotherapy interventions.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS Trust standards.

• Participate in weekend or on-call rotas as required (enhanced rates apply).

Requirements

• HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist.

• Previous NHS inpatient experience (Band 5 or equivalent).

• Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and teamworking skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.

• Right to work in the UK and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one).

Desirable

• Experience in respiratory or acute medical settings.

• Familiarity with NHS documentation systems (e.g., SystmOne, EPR, or similar).

• Flexibility to work across different wards as service needs change.

• Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) – part-time considered
