Hunter AHP have a fantastic new locum opportunity for an experienced Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist to join a supportive NHS hospital team based in Worcestershire.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday role, working across a diverse range of clinical wards, with an immediate start available. The contract is ongoing and ideal for a pharmacist confident in hospital clinical duties.

 

Key Role Details:

  • Role: Locum Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist

  • Location: NHS Hospital – Worcestershire

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (no weekends)

  • Contract Length: Ongoing

  • Hourly Rate: £33–£36 per hour (depending on experience)

Clinical Areas Covered May Include:

  • General Medicine

  • Surgery

  • Elderly Care

  • Respiratory

  • Acute Admissions Unit (AAU)

  • Short Stay / Discharge Wards

You’ll join a well-structured pharmacy team and work alongside fellow pharmacists, technicians, and ward staff to deliver high-quality medicines optimisation and patient-focused care.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clinical pharmacy services to a range of inpatient wards

  • Conduct medicines reconciliation, clinical screening, and discharge planning

  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support safe and effective prescribing

  • Ensure adherence to local formulary and NHS trust policies

  • Contribute to audits, training, and quality improvement initiatives

 

Candidate Requirements:

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacist (essential)

  • Significant NHS hospital experience (Band 7 or 8a level)

  • Strong clinical knowledge across a variety of acute and general ward settings

  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider team

  • Full Monday to Friday availability
