Hunter AHP have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist to join a respected private hospital in Nottingham on a locum basis.

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, offering an immediate start and a long-term, ongoing contract. The successful candidate will be paid directly by the client, at a competitive rate of £33–£36 per hour, dependent on experience.

 

Key Role Details:

  • Position: Locum Clinical Pharmacist (Band 8a level)

  • Setting: Private Hospital – Nottingham

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (no weekends)

  • Contract: Ongoing locum assignment

  • Rate: £33–£36 per hour (DOE)

  • Payment: Paid directly by the client

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical pharmacy services to a range of inpatient wards and departments

  • Support safe, effective, and evidence-based use of medicines across the hospital

  • Work closely with medical and nursing teams to review treatment plans and support patient care

  • Contribute to medicines reconciliation, discharge planning, and formulary adherence

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, CQC standards, and private sector governance

 

Requirements:

  • Registered Pharmacist with the GPhC

  • Minimum 2 years’ hospital clinical pharmacy experience

  • Confident working independently within an acute care setting

  • Strong communication and clinical decision-making skills

  • Ability to commit to a full-time Monday–Friday schedule

  • Private hospital experience is desirable but not essential
