Job Title: Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist Band 6
Location: West London
Duration: 3-month rolling contract with potential for extension
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £25 – £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing:
As a Haematology/Transfusion Biomedical Scientist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic services in a busy laboratory setting. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Conducting a range of haematology and transfusion laboratory tests
• Preparing and analysing blood samples for diagnostic purposes
• Performing blood group testing, crossmatching, and other transfusion-related tests
• Ensuring high standards in lab procedures and compliance with regulations
• Supporting quality control initiatives
• Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care

Requirements & Qualifications:
To succeed in this role, you will need:

• HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
• IBMS Accredited Degree
• 1-2 years of experience in a Haematology laboratory, with Transfusion experience preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong commitment to high-quality laboratory services
• Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
The role operates Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with core hours from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The contract will last for an initial 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
