Locum Histology Biomedical Scientist (Band 5/6) – Manchester

Job Title: Histology Biomedical Scientist Band 5/6
Location: Manchester
Duration: 3-month rolling contract
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £20 – 26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing:

Join our team as a Biomedical Scientist and contribute to providing excellent diagnostic services. In this role, you will:

• Perform histology lab tests and prepare samples for diagnostic analysis
• Conduct microtomy, embedding, and staining procedures
• Ensure high standards in laboratory procedures and patient sample handling
• Work closely with senior scientists to maintain compliance with all regulations
• Support the development and implementation of quality control measures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver optimal patient care

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Strong experience in Histology, including microtomy and embedding
• Knowledge of laboratory testing and specimen preparation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient laboratory services
• Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This role requires availability from Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with some flexibility where possible. The contract is for 3 months with a rolling renewal, subject to performance and service needs.
