We are seeking an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our private neurological rehabilitation service as a full-time locum.
This role involves providing specialist occupational therapy to individuals aged 16 years and over with acquired brain injury (ABI) and other neurological conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.
You will work within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment to deliver high-quality, client-centred rehabilitation aimed at improving functional independence, participation, and quality of life.
Provide comprehensive assessments, interventions, and treatment planning for clients aged 16+ with acquired brain injury and neurological conditions.
Develop and implement individualised, goal-oriented rehabilitation programmes focusing on functional recovery and independence.
Deliver evidence-based interventions, including upper limb rehabilitation, cognitive retraining, fatigue management, and daily living skills retraining.
Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, neuropsychologists, and other professionals to ensure integrated care.
Conduct home, workplace, and community assessments to identify equipment and environmental adaptations.
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation and communication with referrers, case managers, and families.
Support clients and carers through education, advice, and goal setting.
Participate in team meetings, supervision, and service development where appropriate.
Degree or Master’s in Occupational Therapy.
HCPC registration (required).
Minimum 2 years’ post-qualification experience, including recent neurorehabilitation and/or acquired brain injury work.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage a full caseload.
Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills.
Ability to start ASAP and commit to full-time hours.
Access to own transport (if community-based role).
Experience with upper limb rehab, cognitive and perceptual rehabilitation, splinting, or FES.
Familiarity with private or medico-legal rehabilitation frameworks.
Membership of RCOT Specialist Section – Neurological Practice.
Competitive hourly rate: £30–£40/hour, depending on experience.
Full-time locum position with immediate start.
