Locum Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Surrey 

Location: NHS Paediatric Clinic –Surrey
Rate: £24–£29 per hour (DOE)
Contract: Locum | Full-time / Part-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join a friendly and supportive NHS paediatric team on a locum basis. The role involves working with a varied caseload of children, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), sensory processing difficulties, and physical disabilities. You will provide assessments, interventions, and reviews for children attending the general paediatric clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake comprehensive assessments and review appointments for children referred to the service.
• Provide intervention and therapy programmes tailored to each child’s functional needs.
• Work with children presenting with ASD, sensory processing difficulties, and physical disabilities.
• Complete accurate documentation and clinical notes on EMIS.
• Produce clear and timely reports, treatment plans, and therapy programmes.
• Liaise effectively with families, schools, and other health and education professionals.
• Attend relevant multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to collaborative care planning.

Essential Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience working in a paediatric clinical setting.
• Strong understanding of ASD, sensory processing, and physical disability management.
• Confident in conducting assessments and writing reports.
• Excellent communication and teamworking skills.

Desirable:

• Experience using EMIS.
• Training in Sensory Integration or other paediatric specialisms.
• Previous NHS experience.
