Job Title: Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist
Location: South London – NHS Hospital (Surgical & Medical Wards Only)
Duration: Ongoing Locum Contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm (5 days per week)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing (with potential extension)
Rate of Pay: £32–£35 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing:
Join our team as a Band 8a Clinical Pharmacist and play a key role in supporting surgical and medical ward patients. In this role, you will:
perform comprehensive clinical medication reviews
optimise pharmacotherapy for complex surgical and medical inpatients
deliver evidence-based pharmaceutical care to improve patient outcomes
work closely with consultants, junior doctors, nurses, and the wider MDT
ensure safe prescribing, supply, and administration of medicines
maintain accurate, compliant patient records
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
a current and valid GPhC registration
substantial experience in an NHS hospital, covering surgical and medical wards
strong clinical knowledge and medicines optimisation skills
excellent communication and interpersonal skills
the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role is full-time, Monday to Friday (9am–5pm). The contract is ongoing, with strong potential for extension depending on performance and service needs.
