Locum Pharmacy Technician – Cancer Services – NHS Hospital – Oxford – £15–£20/hour
Hunter AHP have a fantastic opportunity for a Locum Pharmacy Technicianto join the Cancer Services team at a major NHS hospital in Oxford.
This role is ideal for a motivated technician seeking to develop specialist knowledge in oncology and aseptic services. You will receive full NHS training, making this an excellent stepping stone into one of the most in-demand areas of hospital pharmacy.
Role Overview:
Position: Locum Pharmacy Technician – Cancer Services
Location: NHS Hospital, Oxford
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Rolling contract with strong potential to go permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours/week)
Hourly Rate: £15 – £20/hour (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the cancer pharmacy team with chemotherapy dispensing and verification processes
Assisting in the preparation, labelling and checking of cancer medicines
Ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation of oncology treatments
Liaising with pharmacists, nurses, and consultants in the delivery of cancer care
Participating in audits, stock control, and maintenance of aseptic workflow systems
Helping maintain compliance with all NHS and local governance policies
Requirements:
GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician (essential)
Full Monday to Fridayavailability (5 days/week)
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety
Previous hospital or NHS experience is beneficial, but not essential
Willingness to train in cancer services and aseptic procedures
