Locum Pharmacy Technician – Cancer Services – NHS Hospital – Oxford – £15–£20/hour

Hunter AHP have a fantastic opportunity for a Locum Pharmacy Technicianto join the Cancer Services team at a major NHS hospital in Oxford.

This role is ideal for a motivated technician seeking to develop specialist knowledge in oncology and aseptic services. You will receive full NHS training, making this an excellent stepping stone into one of the most in-demand areas of hospital pharmacy.

 

Role Overview:

  • Position: Locum Pharmacy Technician – Cancer Services

  • Location: NHS Hospital, Oxford

  • Start Date: ASAP

  • Duration: Rolling contract with strong potential to go permanent

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (37.5 hours/week)

  • Hourly Rate: £15 – £20/hour (dependent on experience)

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the cancer pharmacy team with chemotherapy dispensing and verification processes

  • Assisting in the preparation, labelling and checking of cancer medicines

  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and documentation of oncology treatments

  • Liaising with pharmacists, nurses, and consultants in the delivery of cancer care

  • Participating in audits, stock control, and maintenance of aseptic workflow systems

  • Helping maintain compliance with all NHS and local governance policies

 

Requirements:

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician (essential)

  • Full Monday to Fridayavailability (5 days/week)

  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to patient safety

  • Previous hospital or NHS experience is beneficial, but not essential

  • Willingness to train in cancer services and aseptic procedures
