PCN Pharmacy Technician – GP Surgery – Hertfordshire – £15–£23/hour (DOE)

 

Hunter AHP have an opportunity for an experienced Primary Care Pharmacy Technician to join a GP surgery in Hertfordshire.

We’re looking for a confident, organised, and motivated technician with strong experience in a general practice or PCN setting, able to support the delivery of structured medicines support across a range of responsibilities. Whether you’ve worked with EMIS or SystmOne, your experience will be fully utilised in a patient-focused role that blends both clinical and administrative pharmacy support.

Key Details:
Location: GP surgery, Hertfordshire
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm (30-minute lunch break)
Start Date: ASAP or within 4 weeks
Contract Type: Locum – Ongoing
Rate: £15 – £23/hour (dependent on experience)

Day-to-Day Duties:

  • Conducting medicines reconciliation following hospital discharges

  • Carrying out structured medication reviews under the supervision of a clinical pharmacist

  • Assisting with repeat prescribing processes and prescription queries

  • Running clinical searches to support QOF and IIF targets

  • Supporting blood test monitoring and medication safety reviews

  • Liaising with GPs, nurses, and patients to ensure optimal use of medicines

  • Supporting audits and medicines optimisation initiatives across the PCN

Requirements:

  • GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician

  • Primary care/PCN experience essential (minimum 6 months)

  • Experience using either EMIS or SystmOne (essential)

  • Comfortable working independently within a structured GP/PCN environment

  • Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week)
