Locum Clinical Pharmacist – NHS Hospital, Buckinghamshire
Hunter AHP is currently looking for a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join a busy NHS hospital in Buckinghamshire!
Key Details:
Position: Locum Clinical Pharmacist
Location: NHS Hospital, Buckinghamshire
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Days: Monday to Friday (5 days per week)
Start: ASAP
Contract: Ongoing contract
Pay: £31 – £37 per hour (DOE)
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide clinical pharmacy services to inpatient wards and multidisciplinary teams.
Undertake medication reviews, ensuring the safe, effective, and appropriate use of medicines for patients.
Provide expert advice and guidance on pharmacological therapies and treatment regimens to clinical staff.
Contribute to ward rounds and ensure the optimal pharmacological management of patients.
Conduct patient consultations and counseling, especially regarding complex or high-risk medications.
Review patient prescriptions and monitor for potential drug interactions, side effects, or contraindications.
Support and mentor junior pharmacy staff, including pharmacy technicians and assistants.
Work with the clinical team to ensure medication-related risks are identified and minimized.
Assist in ensuring the hospital’s pharmacy stock is well-managed, including ordering, stock rotation, and auditing.
Requirements:
Several years of clinical pharmacy experience within an NHS setting
Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
Excellent communication and patient care skills
Ability to manage a busy workload efficiently and effectively
Must be able to start as soon as possible
