We are currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join the in-patient rehabilitation team at a modern community hospital. This is an excellent opportunity to support patients on the Medicine for the Elderly wards while also contributing to community rehabilitation services.

The hospital is a purpose-built facility offering single patient rooms, dedicated therapy gym spaces, and communal rehabilitation areas, providing an excellent environment for delivering high-quality patient care.

The Role

As part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide occupational therapy assessment and intervention for patients within the Medicine for the Elderly wards. You will work closely alongside Physiotherapists and fellow Occupational Therapy colleagues, including both qualified staff and support workers.

The Occupational Therapy service also supports patients following discharge from hospital and accepts community referrals for adults of all ages requiring rehabilitation within their own homes and local communities, offering a varied and rewarding caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessment and treatment for in-patients on Medicine for the Elderly wards.

  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to support patient rehabilitation and discharge planning.

  • Contribute to community rehabilitation services following hospital discharge.

  • Manage a varied caseload across inpatient and community settings.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and work in accordance with professional standards.

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.

  • Previous Band 6 Occupational Therapy experience.

  • Experience working within rehabilitation and/or elderly care settings is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.

Working Pattern

  • Monday to Friday

  • 08:30 – 16:30 (30-minute lunch break)
    or

  • 08:00 – 16:00 (30-minute lunch break)
