Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker
Location: Southampton, Hampshire
Duration: Ongoing / Long-Term
Schedule: Night shifts – Tuesday to Sunday (6 nights available, can be split across two workers)
Shift Length: 12 hours 15 minutes (including handover)
Start Date: ASAP (Subject to package award)
Hunter Gatherer AHP are recruiting for an experienced Healthcare Support Worker to support a 70-year-old lady as part of a long-term, 24-hour ICB-funded package of care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting clients with tracheostomies and complex care needs in the community. The successful candidate will join a dedicated 24-hour care team, providing overnight support in a stable, long-term placement.
The role will involve:
Overnight monitoring and support
Tracheostomy care, including suctioning as required
CPAP support (the client is not ventilated)
Inflating the tracheostomy cuff when required
PEG awareness (overnight feeds may be managed by the day team)
Assisting with repositioning when needed
The client has no challenging behaviours, mobilises with a Zimmer frame, and is supported within her own home.
Essential requirements:
Experience supporting clients with tracheostomies
Confident with suctioning and tracheostomy cuff management
Experience in complex care
Excellent communication skills
Right to work in the UK
