Hunter Gatherer AHP are looking for an experienced Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a specialist Neurological Rehabilitation team in Central London.
This is an exciting opportunity to work autonomously with adults presenting with complex progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions. You will be responsible for undertaking specialist Occupational Therapy assessments, developing and implementing evidence-based treatment programmes, and evaluating patient progress to maximise independence and functional outcomes.
The successful candidate will manage their own clinical caseload, working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to provide high-quality neurological rehabilitation across a range of settings.
Undertake specialist Occupational Therapy assessments for adults with complex progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions using advanced clinical reasoning and appropriate outcome measures.
Plan, implement, evaluate and adapt individualised therapy programmes to meet changing patient needs.
Independently manage and prioritise a varied neurological caseload.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic patient records in accordance with HCPC and local standards.
Communicate effectively with patients who may present with speech, cognitive, behavioural or communication difficulties, including language barriers.
Use excellent communication, negotiation and motivational skills to maximise patient engagement in rehabilitation.
Liaise effectively with families, carers, statutory services, voluntary organisations and external agencies to ensure seamless patient care.
Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to deliver goal-orientated rehabilitation and participate in team meetings and case reviews.
Undertake complex moving and handling risk assessments and provide appropriate recommendations to support rehabilitation.
Advise referrers regarding service suitability, capacity and referral appropriateness.
HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
Previous NHS experience within neurological rehabilitation.
Experience working with adults with complex neurological conditions.
Strong clinical reasoning and rehabilitation skills.
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.
Ability to manage an independent caseload.
Previous experience with electronic patient record systems is desirable.
