Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 5 MSK Physiotherapist to join an NHS service in Cheshire on a locum basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 5 Physiotherapist with an interest in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy to develop their clinical experience within a supportive NHS MSK service.
The successful Physiotherapist will assess, diagnose and treat patients presenting with a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions, developing individualised treatment and rehabilitation plans to support recovery and improve function.
You will be responsible for managing your own caseload and delivering evidence-based physiotherapy interventions across a range of MSK presentations.
The role will include:
Completing comprehensive MSK assessments and clinical examinations.
Assessing and treating patients presenting with acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions.
Developing and delivering individualised rehabilitation and treatment programmes.
Managing a varied clinical caseload independently.
Providing hands-on treatment where clinically appropriate, including manual therapy.
Prescribing appropriate therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation programmes.
Providing advice and education around self-management, posture, exercise and injury prevention.
Supporting patients to improve mobility, strength, function and quality of life.
Monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment plans accordingly.
Identifying red flags and referring/escalating appropriately where required.
Working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals and the wider MDT.
Maintaining accurate clinical documentation and completing appropriate discharge planning.
Managing patient expectations and supporting patients to take an active role in their rehabilitation.
HCPC registration.
Previous experience within MSK Physiotherapy.
Experience assessing and treating a broad range of MSK presentations.
Ability to manage a clinical caseload effectively.
Good understanding of evidence-based MSK assessment and treatment.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
NHS experience is desirable.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
Available to start in September 2026.
