Occupational Therapist – Stroke & Neuro Rehabilitation
Band: Band 6 – 37.5 hours per week OR Band 7 – 30 hours per week

Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join an inpatient Stroke & Neuro Rehabilitation service at the Magnolia Unit.
The successful Occupational Therapist will provide high-quality specialist Occupational Therapy to inpatients admitted to the rehabilitation ward, supporting their rehabilitation and smooth transition back into the community.
You will work closely with patients, carers and a wider multidisciplinary team, collaborating with community, social care and voluntary sector providers throughout the rehabilitation and discharge process.
The role will involve:
Providing specialist Occupational Therapy assessment and intervention to adults with neurological conditions, including Stroke.
Managing a caseload of patients within an inpatient rehabilitation setting.
Assessing functional needs and developing appropriate rehabilitation plans.
Providing treatment and interventions to maximise patients' independence and quality of life.
Coordinating cases and contributing to planned and safe discharge.
Supporting patients with their transition from inpatient rehabilitation into the community.
Providing follow-up in the community where indicated.
Working collaboratively with the wider MDT, carers, community services, social care and voluntary sector providers.
Providing specialist clinical advice, education and support to patients and their carers.
Maintaining high standards of clinical practice and patient-centred care.
HCPC registration.
Previous experience working as an Occupational Therapist within Stroke and/or Neuro Rehabilitation.
Strong inpatient rehabilitation experience.
Experience assessing and treating adults with neurological conditions.
Confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Ability to manage a clinical caseload and contribute to discharge planning.
Band 6 or Band 7 experience would be considered.
Strong communication, organisational and clinical skills.
