Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and energetic Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team within Respiratory Medicine. This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of clinical areas including ICU, respiratory, cardiology, enhanced care, and surgical wards.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients through complex rehabilitation pathways, particularly those stepping down from ICU. You will be expected to demonstrate strong discharge planning skills, work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, and manage a varied caseload of patients with complex needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions
Manage complex rehabilitation cases, including post-ICU patients
Work effectively across multiple wards and multidisciplinary teams
Lead and support safe and timely discharge planning
Operate independently and efficiently under pressure
Requirements:
HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
Previous Band 6 experience (or equivalent)
Strong background in acute settings, ideally including ICU/respiratory
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work autonomously and manage a complex caseload
