Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist – High Pay, Flexible Contract in West Yorkshire!

Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting for a Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join a dedicated Intermediate Care service based in West Yorkshire.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a rewarding locum role within a supportive and well-established team. You will be working across a bed-based intermediate care service and completing community visits, helping patients regain independence, improve their functional ability and achieve safe and effective discharges.

The service is looking for someone who can start ASAP and confidently manage a varied caseload.

Job Title: Locum Band 6 Occupational Therapist
Location: West Yorkshire
Duration: Ongoing Contract
Schedule: Flexible Hours Available – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
Night Shifts: Option to work one night per week, 11pm–7am, if desired
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: Ongoing
Rate of Pay: Competitive and negotiable depending on experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a varied and complex Occupational Therapy caseload within Intermediate Care

  • Working across a bed-based rehabilitation service and completing community visits

  • Completing comprehensive functional and occupational assessments

  • Assessing patients’ ability to safely complete activities of daily living

  • Developing and implementing personalised rehabilitation and treatment plans

  • Supporting patients to regain independence and maximise their functional ability

  • Identifying and recommending appropriate equipment and adaptations

  • Supporting safe and timely discharge planning

  • Facilitating safe transitions from intermediate care back into the community

  • Working closely with Physiotherapists, Nurses, Support Workers and the wider multidisciplinary team

  • Providing advice and support to patients, families and carers

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist

  • Previous experience working at Band 6 level, or strong relevant experience

  • Experience within Intermediate Care, Rehabilitation, Community, Acute or Discharge Planning services

  • Confident managing a varied caseload independently

  • Strong assessment and clinical reasoning skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle may be beneficial due to the community element of the role

  • No sponsorship available

This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist looking for a varied and rewarding locum role with flexible working hours. There is also the option to work one night shift per week from 11pm–7am, making this a great opportunity for someone looking for additional flexibility.
