Job Title: Microbiology Biomedical Scientist Band 6
Location: West Midlands
Duration: 3 month rolling contract
Schedule: Monday – Sunday, 37.5 hours p/w
Start Date: ASAP
Rate of Pay: £25 – £26 per hour DOE (umbrella equivalent)

What You’ll Be Doing
Join our team as a Microbiology Biomedical Scientist and help provide excellent diagnostic services. Your responsibilities will include:
Performing a variety of microbiology laboratory tests, including culture and identification
Assisting in the preparation and analysis of samples for diagnostic purposes
Conducting antimicrobial susceptibility testing and PCR analysis
Maintaining high standards of laboratory procedures and ensuring compliance with all regulations
Supporting the development and implementation of quality control measures
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best patient care
Requirements & Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
HCPC Registration as a Biomedical Scientist
IBMS Accredited Degree
At least 1 – 2 years of experience in a Microbiology laboratory
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient laboratory services
Full right to work in the UK (we are unable to provide sponsorship)
Working Hours & Contract Duration
This role requires availability from Monday to Sunday, 37.5 hours per week. The contract is running up until October/November, with the potential for renewal depending on performance and service needs.
