• Job Title: Service Manager – Integrated Adult Care (Band 8a)
• Location: South London NHS Hospital
• Duration: 8–12 Weeks
• Schedule: Monday – Friday

What You'll Be Doing:

Join a busy NHS operational leadership team and play a key role in delivering safe, effective and high-quality patient services. In this role, you will:

  • Provide senior operational leadership across integrated adult care services
  • Support performance, workforce, activity, quality and financial objectives
  • Lead service improvement, transformation and pathway redesign initiatives
  • Manage patient flow, capacity planning and escalation processes
  • Monitor and improve operational performance against key NHS targets and KPIs
  • Work closely with clinical leads, nursing teams and multidisciplinary stakeholders
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, sickness management and service resilience
  • Contribute to governance, risk management and incident investigations
  • Lead on service development and continuous improvement programmes

Requirements & Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Significant NHS operational management experience
  • Previous experience working at Band 8a level or equivalent
  • Experience managing healthcare services, performance targets and operational delivery
  • Strong understanding of patient flow, capacity management and service improvement
  • Experience leading teams and managing workforce performance
  • Budget management and resource planning experience
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a full-time onsite position, Monday to Friday, within a busy South London NHS Hospital. The contract is initially for 8–12 weeks with potential for extension depending on service requirements.
