Job Description

Hunter Gatherer AHP are currently recruiting for an experienced Band 7 Occupational Therapist Team Manager to join a specialist inpatient service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a background in mental health, learning disabilities, forensic services, or complex inpatient care to take on a leadership role within a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a specialist caseload of patients with complex Occupational Therapy needs.

  • Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy and functional assessments.

  • Develop and deliver person-centred, evidence-based treatment plans.

  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers, and the wider multidisciplinary team.

  • Provide Occupational Therapy intervention across inpatient and community settings where required.

  • Provide clinical leadership and support the day-to-day delivery of the Occupational Therapy service.

  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior Occupational Therapists, assistants, and support staff.

  • Contribute to service development, clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure effective communication across services.

  • Promote safe, effective practice in line with HCPC standards and Trust policies.

  • Support safeguarding, risk management, and the delivery of safe interventions for individuals with complex needs.

Essential Requirements

  • HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.

  • Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.

  • Previous experience working within mental health, learning disability, forensic, or complex inpatient services.

  • Experience managing a specialist clinical caseload.

  • Strong understanding of recovery-focused and person-centred Occupational Therapy practice.

  • Experience providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior staff.

  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills.
