What You’ll Be Doing:
Join our team as an Occupational Therapist and play a key role in supporting patients with complex physical disabilities and rehabilitation needs. In this role, you will:
• Undertake Specialist Occupational Therapy Assessments And Deliver Therapy Interventions For Clients With Complex Physical Disabilities
• Use Advanced Clinical Reasoning Skills And Appropriate Outcome Measures To Evaluate Progress
• Independently Adapt Therapy Interventions Based On Patient Needs And Rehabilitation Goals
• Assess And Manage Risks Relating To Moving And Handling Of Complex Patients
• Communicate Effectively With Clients Presenting With Speech, Cognitive And Behavioural Difficulties
• Conduct Independent Home Visits To Assess Discharge Safety, Access And Rehabilitation Needs
• Provide Support, Advice And Education To Patients, Families And Carers
• Liaise With External Agencies To Support Effective Discharge Planning And Continuity Of Care
• Maintain Accurate And Comprehensive Electronic Patient Documentation
• Work Closely With The Multidisciplinary Team To Deliver Goal-Oriented Rehabilitation
• Plan And Prioritise Workload Independently While Supporting Team-Based Care
• Participate In Team Meetings, Ward Rounds, Clinics And Case Reviews
• Screen Referrals From Consultants, GPs And Other Health Professionals
• Assess For And Recommend Specialist Equipment, Adaptations And Rehousing Needs
• Manufacture Hand Splints Where Clinically Appropriate
Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• A Current And Valid HCPC Registration
• Experience Working Within Physical Rehabilitation And Complex Disability Settings
• Strong Clinical Reasoning And Risk Assessment Skills
• Experience Conducting Home Assessments And Discharge Planning
• Ability To Work Independently And Manage A Complex Caseload
• Experience Working Within A Multidisciplinary Team
• Excellent Communication And Interpersonal Skills
• Knowledge Of Specialist Equipment And Adaptations
• A Commitment To Delivering High-Quality Patient Care
Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a full-time working position requiring availability from Monday To Friday with flexibility where possible. The contract is ongoing with a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
