Hunter Gatherer AHP is currently recruiting for an experienced Locum Occupational Therapist to join a Council’s Adult Social Care team within the West Locality. This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity for an OT with community experience who is passionate about promoting independence and supporting adults with complex needs to remain safe in their own homes.

Rate of Pay: £35 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Managing an autonomous caseload of adults aged 18+ with complex needs in the community.
Completing person-centred, strengths-based assessments to promote independence and wellbeing.
Prescribing specialist equipment and recommending adaptations to improve safety at home.
Undertaking complex seating, moving and handling, and positioning assessments.
Assessing home environments and identifying interventions to improve accessibility and independence.
Supporting reablement and helping to prevent, reduce or delay the need for care.
Completing risk assessments and developing appropriate support plans.
Supporting carers and working collaboratively with social workers, health professionals, housing teams and voluntary services.
Providing professional OT advice to colleagues within Adult Social Care.
Maintaining accurate electronic records in line with statutory requirements and professional standards.
HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
Experience working within community-based Adult Social Care.
Confidence managing a complex caseload independently.
Experience with equipment provision, moving and handling assessments, and home adaptations.
Knowledge of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and safeguarding legislation.
Strong communication, organisational and multidisciplinary working skills.
