Locum Occupational Therapist – Children’s Social Services

Hunter Gatherer AHP is currently working with a Social Services team in South London who are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join their Children’s 0–25 Disabilities service.

This is a great opportunity for an OT with previous Social Services and children’s caseload experience who is confident working with children and young people with disabilities and supporting them and their families to achieve greater independence.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a caseload of children and young people aged 0–25 with disabilities.

  • Completing occupational therapy assessments and identifying appropriate interventions and support.

  • Working closely with children, young people, families and carers to promote independence and participation.

  • Working collaboratively with Social Services and wider multidisciplinary teams.

  • Providing recommendations and advice around equipment, adaptations and support needs where appropriate.

  • Maintaining accurate and timely clinical and case records.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Previous Social Services Occupational Therapy experience.

  • Experience managing a children’s caseload.

  • Experience working with children and young people aged 0–25 with disabilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
