Practice Manager – West London GP Surgery – ASAP

Hunter Gatherer AHP are recruiting for an experienced Practice Manager to join a well-established GP surgery in West London on a 12-month locum contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Practice Manager who can step into an established practice, provide strong operational leadership, ensure CQC readiness, and support the ongoing development of the wider practice team. The practice has been unable to recruit permanently and is looking for someone who can hit the ground running.

The Role

• Location: West London GP Surgery
• Start: ASAP
• Duration: 12 months
• Working Pattern: 3–4 days per week
• Hours: Flexible – typically 9:00am–5:00pm or 9:00am–4:00pm
• On-site: Yes (fully on-site)
• Pay Rate: £40–£45 per hour (Ltd Company)

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership across the practice
• Ensure the practice is fully CQC compliant and inspection-ready
• Manage, support and develop administrative staff
• Oversee practice performance and day-to-day operations
• Ensure claims and income streams are submitted accurately and maximised
• Work closely with the Business Manager (payroll and HR are already covered)
• Help establish strong processes and support succession planning within the team

Requirements

• Previous GP Practice Manager experience is essential
• Strong understanding of CQC standards and primary care operations
• Experience managing and developing practice staff
• Knowledge of GP finance, claims and contractual income
• Able to work independently and lead from the front
