Hunter Gatherer AHP are recruiting for an experienced Rehabilitation Assistant to support a 70-year-old lady as part of a long-term, 24-hour ICB-funded package of care.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience supporting clients with complex rehabilitation needs in the community. The successful candidate will work alongside the client's dedicated carer throughout each shift and provide rehabilitation support under the guidance of the treating Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist.
The role will involve:
Working alongside the client's carer to deliver daily rehabilitation support
Assisting with therapy programmes designed by the Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist
Supporting mobility, transfers and walking practice, including use of a Zimmer frame
Encouraging independence with activities of daily living
Assisting with prescribed exercises and rehabilitation activities
Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the wider therapy team
Supporting with rehabilitation goals within the client's own home
Working as part of an established multidisciplinary team to maximise the client's independence
Essential requirements:
Previous experience working as a Rehabilitation Assistant, Therapy Assistant or Healthcare Assistant within rehabilitation or community services
Experience supporting patients with neurological or complex rehabilitation needs is desirable
Comfortable working collaboratively with carers and therapy teams
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Right to work in the UK
